The Gist…

The Investigations Lead will lead investigation efforts, templatize reports, and investigate incidents of potential identity fraud.  You will implement and practice fraud investigative services, fraud monitoring, fraud prevention, and communication with customers and stakeholders to support the execution of the program. Our Lead will also support PMO efforts in executing roadmap initiatives to mature the operational processes within the team and support in creating standard operating procedures (SOPs) when their expertise is applicable.

What Your Day Might Include…

 
  • Conduct fraud investigations, review fraud prevention report, and respond to fraud alerts.
  • Document and upload findings supporting their disposition into a case management tool that can be referenced later for redress requests and other investigative purposes. 
  • Provide program/project management support and subject matter expertise; assist development of the anti-fraud program strategy to combat identity-based fraud, based on identified control gaps, data analytics insights, and lessons learned from industry.  
  • Provide strategic guidance to the and Security and Fraud teams to
    • Encourage exchange of information and best practices and 2) strengthen the Login.gov program to empower the Government to improve policy and decision making and create a better customer experience. 
  • Serve as partner in detecting and mitigating synthetic identity fraud, identity theft, and account takeover and communicating with external entities related to detection and mitigation of fraud. 
  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with key partner teams and external stakeholders to optimize fraud operations processes and policies 
  • Support internal and external audits and due diligence requests 
  • Regularly review suspicious account activity and diagnose issues in tools and processes 
  • Recommend improvements to enhance fraud controls and policies 
  • Mentor and guide individual investigators on the investigations team and liase with the Federal leads to set priorities and execute the team’s mission.

 

Qualifications

 
  • U.S. Citizenship required to obtain Public Trust
  • Bachelor Degree 
  • 10+ years of Investigations Experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams
