About this role

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a leading semiconductor manufacturing project in Japan. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of large-scale industrial equipment, ensuring optimal system performance and minimal downtime. Work Place: Hokkaido, Japan Work Style: Onsite Key Responsibilities: Perform on-site installation, servicing, modification, and repair of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Conduct diagnostics, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and system repairs. Maintain accurate service records and technical reports. Coordinate with team members, supervisors, and customers to minimize equipment downtime. Order, replace, and install equipment parts as needed. Respond to emergency service calls and work flexible shifts, including weekends when required. Provide operational and maintenance training to customer technicians. Execute equipment upgrades and modifications as necessary. Stay updated on tools and equipment through training, manuals, and technical resources. Follow standard procedures to analyze issues and implement effective solutions Ensure proper use, maintenance, and security of company assets (e.g., tools, vehicles) Maintain professional conduct and compliance with on-site standards and policies. Communicate effectively with customers to understand needs and resolve issues. Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders. Collaborate in a team-oriented environment to ensure high customer satisfaction. Adhere strictly to workplace safety standards and practices. Handle engineering change requests (ECO) efficiently and maintain composure under pressure. Perform additional duties as assigned. Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information. Requirements Essential Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. Basic understanding of the semiconductor industry. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, mechanical diagrams, and electrical schematics. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to follow detailed instructions in English accurately and consistently. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively. Willingness to work overtime and flexible schedules when required. High level of professionalism, reliability, and adaptability. Cleanroom training and basic industry safety knowledge (preferred or to be acquired). Japanese N2 or N3 level (Must), English (intermediate-business level). Desired Skills/Qualifications: Knowledge of gas systems used in semiconductor processes is a plus.
