At Access Community Care (ACC), we're looking for compassionate, dependable, and energetic individuals to join our team as a Direct Support Professional (DSA). In this role, you'll support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they participate in community events, build friendships, develop social skills, and explore new experiences.

No two days are the same! From bowling, hiking, and movies to museums, community events, volunteering, and local attractions—you'll help create memorable experiences while empowering individuals to achieve their personal goals.


What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional, you will:

  • Lead engaging community outings and activities for groups of up to 8 participants.
  • Safely transport participants to and from scheduled activities.
  • Encourage independence, socialization, and community inclusion.
  • Help individuals achieve personal goals outlined in their support plans.
  • Foster meaningful friendships and positive social interactions.
  • Support participants with budgeting and managing spending during activities.
  • Complete daily documentation including progress notes, daily logs, and incident reports before the end of each shift.
  • Maintain open communication with your team and supervisors.
  • Ensure the health, safety, dignity, and rights of every individual you support.
  • Occasionally provide one-on-one support when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable personal vehicle
  • Current auto insurance
  • Good driving record
  • Ability to pass state-required background checks
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 20 pounds
  • Basic computer and documentation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred but not required—we provide training for the right candidate!

Schedule

  • Full-Time
