Job Summary:

Completes diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under limited supervision.

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Jacksonville, FL).ย

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

  • Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Completes complex internal engine repairs

  • Performs engine overhauls unassistedย 

  • Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components

  • Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Perform thorough equipment and vehicle inspections to identify potential safety or maintenance concerns.
  • Diagnose and repair brake systems in accordance with manufacturer and company standards.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair suspension system components.
  • Perform A/C system diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including wiring, sensors, switches, and control modules.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and software to accurately identify mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
  • Document findings, diagnostics, repairs, and recommendations accurately on all work orders.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, parts personnel, and fellow technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs.
  • Provide professional customer service and represent the company in a positive manner.

Primary Focus: Safety, quality repairs, accurate diagnostics, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.


Education, Licenses, Certifications:ย 
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.ย 

Experience:ย 
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
