Job Summary:

Completes diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under limited supervision.

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Albuquerque, NM).

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

  • Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Completes complex internal engine repairs

  • Performs engine overhauls unassistedย 

  • Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components

  • Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software

  • Brake Systems: Brake inspections, adjustments, repairs, caliper replacement, pads/shoes, rotors/drums, and air brake components.
  • Suspension: Inspect and repair springs, shocks, bushings, torque rods, and suspension components.
  • Steering: Diagnose and repair steering components, tie rods, drag links, steering boxes, and related hardware.
  • Wheel Ends: Hub, bearing, seal, wheel, and lug-related repairs and inspections.
  • Axles & Driveline: Diagnose and repair axle components, U-joints, driveshafts, and related driveline components.
  • Chassis Electrical: Diagnose wiring, lighting, sensors, ABS, and other chassis electrical systems.
  • Frame & Structural: Inspect and repair chassis/frame components and mounting hardware.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform chassis inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and required maintenance.
  • Diagnostics: Troubleshoot chassis-related faults and determine necessary repairs and parts.
  • Documentation: Complete accurate repair documentation, parts identification, and safety inspections.
- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
- A current valid license is required for this role
- Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
- This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:ย 
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.ย 

Experience:ย 
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
ย

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
