Consultant

Role Purpose

We are seeking a highly experienced Consultant to lead end-to-end operational excellence diagnostics and process transformation initiatives across different functions.

The role will leverage the X3 Process Analysis methodology to perform deep-dive discovery and diagnostic assessments, identify process inefficiencies, quantify improvement opportunities, and develop transformation roadmaps. The successful candidate will combine strong business process expertise with data analytics and emerging technology capabilities to identify opportunities for process optimisation, automation, AI enablement, and digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Process Discovery & Analysis

• Lead Operational Excellence (OpEx) discovery and diagnostic engagements across multiple business functions.
• Conduct end-to-end process mapping using X3 process analysis methodologies.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and process walkthroughs with business stakeholders.
• Document current-state (As-Is) processes, controls, systems, handoffs, and dependencies.
• Develop future-state (To-Be) process designs aligned to business objectives.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

• Identify process waste, bottlenecks, failure demand, rework, control gaps, and inefficiencies.
• Apply Lean principles and continuous improvement techniques to improve operational performance.
• Quantify benefits and improvement opportunities through data-driven analysis.
• Develop actionable recommendations and transformation roadmaps.

Data Analysis & Insights

• Analyse operational, process, workforce, and financial data to identify trends and root causes.
• Translate complex datasets into meaningful business insights and recommendations.
• Create compelling analytical outputs and executive-level presentations.
• Establish performance baselines and improvement measures.

Automation, Technology & AI Opportunity Identification

• Assess existing technology landscape and process enablement opportunities.
• Identify and prioritise:
  • Workflow automation opportunities
  • RPA use cases
  • AI and Generative AI opportunities
  • Process digitisation initiatives
  • Reporting and analytics enhancements
• Support the development of business cases for automation and AI investments.

Stakeholder Management

• Partner with senior business leaders and functional SMEs across HR, Finance, Procurement and Operations.
• Facilitate cross-functional workshops and challenge current ways of working.
• Present findings, recommendations and investment opportunities to senior leadership teams.

Essential Skills & Experience

Process Excellence

• Extensive experience in Operational Excellence, Business Process Improvement or Transformation roles.
• Strong process mapping expertise (SIPOC, Value Stream Mapping, Process Flows, Swimlanes).
• Proven experience conducting discovery and diagnostic assessments.
• Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving capability.

Lean & Continuous Improvement

• Strong foundation in Lean methodologies.
• Experience applying Lean tools and techniques within operational environments.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and quantify process improvement opportunities.

Data & Analytics

• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI and data analysis techniques.
• Ability to build data-led business cases and opportunity assessments.

Technology & Automation

• Experience identifying and assessing:
  • RPA opportunities
  • Workflow automation solutions
  • AI/Gen AI use cases
  • Process digitisation initiatives
• Ability to bridge business and technology teams effectively.

Stakeholder Management

• Strong workshop facilitation and communication skills.
• Experience engaging senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Ability to challenge constructively and influence decision making.

Preferred Experience

• Experience within Finance, HR, Shared Services or GBS environments.
• Exposure to AI-enabled transformation programmes.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
• Experience working in large-scale transformation or consulting environments.
• Familiarity with process mining and process intelligence tools.
