About this role

At Catawiki, every day brings the extraordinary! Whether it’s Daniel Ricciardo’s Formula 1 Car, a Woolly Mammoth’s Skeleton, Lady Gaga's Jumpsuit or Usain Bolt’s running shoe, we encounter exceptional objects every day.

We’re a one-of-a-kind marketplace for buying and selling special objects. Each week, more than 100,000 unique items are auctioned, all carefully curated by our passionate in-house experts.

Having sold over 25 million unique objects, our mission is to become the world’s most popular destination for special objects. As a growing, diverse and sustainable scale-up, we proudly live by three core values. If these values resonate with you, we’d love to explore how you can join us.

  • Taking ownership and driving impact
  • Being open to change and feedback
  • Being passionate about our mission and our customers.

About the role

Like discovering new things and talking to people? Help us connect great art with the people who love it.
At Catawiki, we bring special objects to people who appreciate them. Our Post-War Art & Prints team helps artworks find new owners through weekly online auctions across Europe.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic intern to support our team with the commercial side of the category. You’ll help us discover potential sellers, learn what makes their work special and explore ways to bring more artworks to auction.

Your mission

Support the Post-War Art & Prints team with the commercial work needed to discover potential sellers, build relationships and bring more artworks to auction. You will contribute to weekly online auctions across Europe while learning about the art market and how an online marketplace works.

What You'll Do

  • Research galleries, art dealers and collectors to identify potential sellers for Catawiki
  • Organise and maintain accurate information about potential sellers to support effective outreach
  • Prepare messages, meetings and follow-ups to help build seller relationships
  • Research artists and art market trends and share relevant discoveries with the team
  • Support the preparation of themed auctions and other category projects
  • Track outreach activity and keep the team informed on progress
  • Share ideas and ask questions to contribute to the team’s commercial activities

What You'll Bring

  • Show curiosity about art, people and how businesses work
  • Communicate in a friendly and confident way, with an interest in learning about seller relationships
  • Take an organised approach to research, follow-up and supporting team activities
  • Use everyday digital tools, including spreadsheets and online research
  • Speak fluent English, with other languages considered a plus
  • Stay registered as a student at a Dutch university for the entire internship period and be able to provide a tri-party agreement
  • Bring curiosity, energy and a willingness to learn, with no prior background in art, sales or auctions required

How We Work

  • Work closely with art experts and sales colleagues to learn how we identify potential sellers, build relationships and bring artworks to auction
  • Contribute within an enthusiastic, international team with colleagues from more than 50 nationalities
  • Take initiative and experiment with new ideas in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Learn through hands-on experience and tailored training while contributing to category projects and the growth of the platform
