About this role

Responsibilities

The team supports a suite of web-based applications that automate critical data management processes for Intelligence Community (IC) data custodians. These applications facilitate the capture of information, approvals, and workflows that enable the compliant movement of data throughout the customer mission environment. The products are essential to standardizing and simplifying data movement while enabling data reuse and integration with downstream mission applications and tools.

 

The team is seeking a Software Developer to join a mature and collaborative software development environment focused on delivering and enhancing mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have experience developing software in Java and a desire to expand their skills across the full software development lifecycle.

 

Java is the team's primary development language, with technologies such as Quarkus and PrimeFaces used to build and maintain modern web-based applications. This technology stack provides developers with opportunities to work across the full application stack, including backend services, business logic, and user interface development.

 

The team follows Agile development methodologies, using established processes and tools to plan, assign, track, and manage software activities and requirements. Developers will work closely with other software engineers, systems engineers, and mission stakeholders to design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and deliver new capabilities and enhancements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain Java-based web applications.
  • Develop backend services and application functionality using Java and Quarkus.
  • Build and enhance user interfaces using PrimeFaces and related web technologies.
  • Contribute to full-stack development across frontend and backend components.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and other development activities.
  • Analyze technical requirements and translate them into reliable, maintainable software solutions.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement mission-focused capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot software defects and application issues and participate in root-cause analysis and resolution.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, integration, and deployment activities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation supporting application functionality and development processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of software development practices, tools, and application capabilities.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field from an accredited college or university is highly desired which will be considered equivalent to two (2) years of experience. NOTE: A degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field.
  • Shall have at least 8 years of experience in software engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • Shall have at least 4 years of experience with Java.
  • Shall have at least 3 years of experience in software integration and software testing, to include developing and implementing test plans and test scripts.
  • TS/SCI clearance with polygraph clearance is required.

Must have, or be willing to obtain prior to start, one of the following Cloud Developer Certifications: - AWS Certified Developer-Associate - AWS Certified Machine Learning-Associate - AWS Certified Machine Learning-Specialty - AWS DevOps Engineer Professional - Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
