  • Take part in commissioning new treatment equipment and software, alongside senior physicists.
  • Participate in crosscalibration of dosimetry equipment (ion chambers, electrometers).
  • Help develop and improve the enterprise QA database and workflows, including automation and software tools that serve all 8 sites.
  • Help evaluate and implement new QA technologies.
  • Support or lead development projects within the Radiation Dosimetry Core.
  • Support clinical operations in external beam radiotherapy physics, including the opportunity of rotations into special procedures.

Key Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in medical physics or a related physical science.
  • Currently enrolled in a CAMPEP-accredited therapeutic medical physics residency, with completion expected in 2027.
  • ABR board eligibility in Therapeutic Medical Physics upon completion of residency.
  • Eligibility for a New York State limited permit and New Jersey registration. MSK will support both applications. In addition, we cover two professional society fees and one conference every 2 years.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel periodically to MSK regional sites as needed .

Core Skills:

  • Solid training in radiotherapy physics, with an interest in QA and dosimetry.
  • Hands-on residency experience with linac and CT simulator QA.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including radiation oncologists and radiation therapists.
