About the Role:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Card Reconciliation Officer to ensure the accuracy of card transaction settlements through daily reconciliation, discrepancy investigation and reporting. You will work closely with internal teams to maintain operational efficiency, compliance and financial integrity.


Key Responsibilities:



1.Daily Transaction Verification & Reconciliation

  • Perform daily end to end reconciliation of card settlements across internal accounting systems
  • Match internal transactional ledgers against external data feeds, including bank statements
  • Audit and verify the completeness of payment processing fee structure
  • Conduct daily end of day balances to verify that all card collections and distributions match the company’s internal ledger accounts


2.Discrepancy Investigation & Exception Management

  • Monitor, isolate and investigate the duplicate settlements, missing transactions or processing errors
  • Coordinate directly with relevant parties and internal teams to resolve settlement discrepancy
  • Review chargebacks, reversals, and disputed card transactions according to Mastercard and scheme rules


3.Risk Mitigation & Control Support

  • Identify and escalate the repeating settlement failures or operational anomalies that may indicate liquidity or counterparty risks
  • Monitor transaction patterns for unusual activities or payment source mismatches, escalating potential compliance or regulatory flags to the Risk and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) teams
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal controls, segregation of duties, and industry compliance standards (e.g PCI-DSS)


4.Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation status reports for senior management, detailing outstanding exceptions and aging items
  • Analyze reconciliation workflows to identify operational risks and recommend automated solutions to streamline high-volume transaction matching


Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Banking or a related quantitative field
  • Experience: 2 – 4 years of experience in financial reconciliation, back-office operations or banking card processing, fintech, cryptocurrency, forex exchange or electronic payments experience preferred


Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, data manipulation)
  • Familiarity with card network structures (Visa, Mastercard) and transaction routing
  • Experience with automated reconciliation software, core banking systems or ERP systems is highly preferred

  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills for spotting minute discrepancies in massive data sets
  • Strong communication skills to effectively articulate and resolve technical financial issues with external banking partners
  • A proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership over financial integrity and risk control
