Branch Manager / Baghdad

Job Purpose

To manage and oversee all branch banking, business development, operational, and customer service activities, covering Corporate, Retail, and Foreign Remittance services, while ensuring business growth, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and high-quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the branch and ensure efficient delivery of banking services.
• Develop and execute branch business plans to achieve financial, sales, and growth targets.
• Grow the branch’s Corporate and Retail customer base and strengthen relationships with key clients.
• Oversee corporate and retail banking products, accounts, deposits, financing, and other banking services.
• Supervise inbound and outbound foreign remittance activities and ensure accurate and timely processing.
• Ensure compliance with applicable banking regulations, internal policies, KYC, AML/CFT, sanctions, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor branch performance, profitability, revenue, expenses, and key performance indicators.
• Ensure effective implementation of internal controls and appropriate management of operational and financial risks.
• Lead, supervise, and develop branch staff and ensure effective allocation of responsibilities.
• Monitor employee performance and promote a strong culture of customer service, compliance, and accountability.
• Handle and resolve complex customer issues and complaints and maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Maintain strong relationships with corporate and retail customers and identify opportunities for cross-selling and business development.
• Review and approve transactions within the delegated authority and ensure adherence to the bank’s approval limits.
• Monitor audit and regulatory findings and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit regular branch performance and operational reports to senior management.
• Represent the bank and the branch in dealings with customers and relevant external parties within delegated authority.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of banking experience, preferably including branch management experience.
• Strong experience in Corporate Banking, Retail Banking, and Foreign Remittances.
• Good knowledge of banking regulations, AML/CFT, KYC, compliance, and operational risk.
• Strong leadership, business development, customer relationship, and decision-making skills.
