Assistant Manager, Central Laboratory

Responsibilities

• As signatory to authorize reports.
• Be involved in the day, night and irregular lab duties (e.g. relief or Sunday duties).
• Oversee the QC or QAP of the whole Department.
• Co-ordinate of sendout tests to outside laboratories and specialized lab testing.
• Communicate, answer and provide assistance on in information to internal and external clients.
• Chair and maintain records of the laboratory operation meetings in absence of Senior Laboratory Manager.
• Roster day, night, and weekend shifts.
• Day to day supervision of operations of all department
• Liaise with other collecting sites
• Liaise with doctors for result interpretation
• Manage and co-ordinate all departmental documentation both directly and by delegation to department supervisors and other senior staff.
• Ensure compliance with Industry Standard requirements on documentation.
• Co-ordinate all internal staff training schedules.
• Organize staff training program and maintain staff training records.
• Participate in laboratory-wide internal audit program
• Responsible to collect purchase orders from all departments
• Maintain the list of approved suppliers and subcontractors
• Carry out purchasing function according the set Purchasing Procedure Manual

• Part I registration with the Hong Kong Medical Laboratory Technologists Board (HKMLT Board) for more than five years.
• At least 2 years of relevant leadership experience in the medical laboratory industry
• Specialized knowledge in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology is preferred
• Knowledge of ISO 15189:2022 accreditation requirements is preferred
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
