Job Summary

A Field Support Engineer provides on-site and remote technical assistance, troubleshooting, and hardware/software maintenance for client systems and networks.
Job Role Overview
A Field Support Engineer acts as the primary on-site technical expert for customers. They install, configure, and repair equipment or networks to ensure maximum uptime and minimal business disruption.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation & Setup: Install, configure, and test hardware, software, and network components at client sites.
• Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose complex technical issues, perform hardware break/fixes, and resolve software or connectivity errors.
• Maintenance: Execute routine preventative maintenance and system upgrades.
• Client Communication: Train users on equipment operation, explain technical solutions clearly, and maintain professional client relationships.
• Documentation: Log all service activities, support tickets, asset records, and incident reports accurately in company databases.

Skill Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related engineering field.
• Experience: 1 to 3+ years of hands-on experience in technical support, deployment, or field engineering.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows/Linux), networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN), and diagnostic tools.
• Certifications: Preferred credentials include Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or ITIL Foundation.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong verbal communication, and adaptability to flexible work hours or travel.
