About this role
- Assist consultants in the assessment and management of Obstetrics & Gynecology patients.
- Attend OPD, IPD, emergency, labour room, and ward duties as per roster.
- Monitor antenatal, postnatal, and gynecology patients and promptly escalate clinical concerns to the consultant.
- Assist in normal deliveries, Caesarean sections, gynecological procedures, and surgeries under appropriate supervision.
- Participate in rounds and maintain accurate patient case sheets, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other clinical documentation.
- Coordinate investigations, medications, referrals, and follow-up care as advised by consultants.
- Respond to obstetric and gynecological emergencies according to hospital protocols and within the doctor's scope of practice.
- Maintain effective communication with consultants, nursing staff, patients, and other clinical departments.
- Follow hospital policies relating to patient safety, infection control, medication safety, confidentiality, and biomedical waste management.
- Participate in departmental meetings, clinical discussions, audits, training, and quality-improvement activities.
- Ensure proper handover of patients and pending clinical matters at shift changes.
