Youth Mentor PRN

Overview

Hourly Pay Rate: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour

Location: 65 N 1150 Hurricane, Utah 84737 (On-site)

PRN Shift Options: Minimum 2 shifts required per month, any day of the week

• AM: 7:00am - 5:00pm
• PM: 1:00pm - 11:00pm
  • Most needed shifts are PM, Monday - Friday

Embark at Hurricane – Stabilization and Assessment is hiring PRN Behavioral Health Associates to support adolescent boys (ages 12–17) in a residential setting. You’ll help clients with daily routines, emotional regulation, life skills, safety, and structured programming, while working alongside therapists and nurses to ensure treatment goals are met. Our program provides a home‑like environment for highly acute teens and their families, focusing on stabilization, assessment, and family‑centered healing.

Responsibilities

• Daily routines: Support students in following structured schedules and activities with encouragement and accountability.

• Crisis intervention: Use verbal de‑escalation techniques to manage emotional or behavioral escalations; apply approved physical interventions (holds/restraints) when clinically necessary to ensure safety. 

• Crisis prevention: Apply proactive strategies to reduce risk and provide crisis management when necessary.

• Treatment alignment: Ensure student progress aligns with individualized treatment plans developed by therapists.
• Positive modeling: Model constructive behaviors and attitudes, reinforcing a healthy environment for clients.
• Documentation: Maintain consistent, thorough records of client interactions, incidents, and progress.
• Team engagement: Participate in staff and house bonding activities to foster teamwork and community cohesion.
• Housekeeping tasks: Perform light daily tasks to maintain a clean, organized living space.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

• Behavioral Health, Healthcare, or Crisis Response Experience: Experience working with adolescents, individuals with behavioral health needs, or vulnerable populations is preferred. Candidates with backgrounds as EMTs, AEMTs, Paramedics, Direct Support Professionals, Behavioral Health Technicians, CNAs, Medical Assistants, First Responders, Residential Counselors, Fire/Rescue personnel, Military service members, or other healthcare, human services, and crisis-response professionals are strongly encouraged to apply.

• Transferable Experience Welcome: We value candidates who remain calm under pressure, respond effectively in crisis situations, build trust with others, and maintain professional boundaries. If you have experience in emergency medical services (EMS), healthcare, public safety, military service, education, social services, or other helping professions, we encourage you to apply.

Required:

• 21+ years of age or older
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen
• Able to pass criminal investigation background check
• Current driver's license
• Ability to learn CPR and First-Aid.
