About the Role

Our client is seeking a Website Designer to create modern, responsive, and conversion-focused websites that blend strong visual design with usability and performance. This role requires both creative design expertise and hands-on CMS implementation skills.

The Website Designer will develop wireframes, create high-fidelity mockups, build pages within CMS platforms, customize styling with HTML/CSS, and ensure websites are optimized for speed, SEO, accessibility, and user experience.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong visual storytelling with technical execution and enjoys building websites that are both beautiful and high-performing.

Responsibilities

Website Design & User Experience

• Create wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity website designs in Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch
• Translate brand direction and business goals into responsive, user-friendly website layouts
• Design websites optimized for usability, engagement, and conversion performance
• Maintain visual consistency across pages, landing pages, and digital assets

CMS Development & Customization

• Build, update, and maintain websites using platforms such as WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, or Shopify
• Customize templates and themes using HTML, CSS, and light JavaScript
• Manage plugins, integrations, widgets, forms, and third-party tools
• Ensure websites remain scalable, organized, and easy to maintain

Website Optimization & SEO

• Optimize websites for speed, accessibility, responsiveness, and SEO best practices
• Implement proper metadata, heading structures, alt text, schema markup, and internal linking
• Run performance audits using Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, Lighthouse, or similar tools
• Improve Core Web Vitals and mobile responsiveness across devices

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Test websites across browsers, screen sizes, and devices to ensure flawless functionality
• Troubleshoot formatting issues, plugin conflicts, responsiveness problems, and broken functionality
• Ensure websites maintain high performance and visual consistency post-launch

Collaboration & Feedback

• Collaborate with marketing, content, and development teams to align websites with campaigns and business objectives
• Incorporate stakeholder feedback while maintaining strong design integrity and usability standards
• Communicate design decisions clearly and professionally across teams

File Management & Website Maintenance

• Keep website files, assets, and design systems organized and up to date
• Ensure CMS platforms, plugins, and integrations remain updated and secure
• Maintain backups, revisions, and organized documentation for future updates

• Understanding of responsive design principles and modern UX/UI standards
• Experience optimizing websites for SEO, speed, and mobile responsiveness

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Experience designing for e-commerce websites (Shopify, WooCommerce)
• Basic JavaScript or front-end development knowledge
• Familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and SEO optimization workflows
• Experience supporting B2B SaaS, marketing agencies, or e-commerce brands
• Understanding of conversion-focused landing page design and user behavior optimization

What Does a Typical Day Look Like?

A Website Designer’s day revolves around turning design concepts into functional, optimized digital experiences. You will:

• Design layouts, prototypes, and landing pages aligned with brand and user experience goals
• Build and customize websites within CMS platforms using HTML/CSS enhancements
• Run performance, responsiveness, and SEO audits to improve speed and visibility
• Test websites across browsers and devices to ensure flawless experiences
• Collaborate with marketing and content teams on campaigns, landing pages, and site updates
• Maintain website security, plugins, and ongoing design consistency

In essence: you ensure websites are visually engaging, responsive, optimized, and aligned with business objectives.

• On-time delivery of website builds, revisions, and updates

• Mobile responsiveness and accessibility scores ≥90% (Lighthouse)
• Positive stakeholder feedback on design quality and usability
• SEO improvements including traffic growth, rankings, and reduced bounce rates
• Reduced website bugs, formatting issues, and responsiveness problems
