The Web Content Manager within The Ohio State University Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) Marketing and Communications team serves as the lead content manager for OAA’s portfolio of websites. Reporting to the Associate Director of Digital Strategy and Operations, this position is responsible for managing and maintaining OAA websites and collaborating with colleagues to develop web and digital content that supports the strategic goals of OAA, the Provost, and the university.

The Web Content Manager plays a key role in ensuring a high-quality, accessible, and user-focused digital experience. Responsibilities include creating, updating, and maintaining website content; advising campus partners on web content and development best practices; monitoring and improving website performance; and leveraging current digital tools, technologies, and platforms to support OAA’s communication objectives. This position also serves as OAA’s lead digital accessibility coordinator and may be assigned additional duties and projects aligned with the individual's skills and expertise.


Key Responsibilities

Web Content Management

  • Create, maintain, and manage OAA websites and web-based resources.
  • Develop, publish, update, and organize website content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve content quality, site architecture, navigation, and overall user experience.
  • Analyze website performance and user engagement metrics to identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop and maintain digital analytics reports across OAA’s digital channels, including websites, newsletters, social media, and video platforms, and provide recommendations based on performance trends.
  • Gather and translate business needs into web and digital content requirements.
  • Participate in university digital experience and analytics communities to stay informed of emerging trends, best practices, and institutional standards.
  • Conduct website quality assurance reviews to ensure functionality, usability, and content accuracy.
  • Apply best practices related to user experience (UX), user interface (UI) design, accessibility, and university brand standards.

Digital Accessibility Leadership

  • Serve as OAA’s primary coordinator for digital accessibility initiatives.
  • Monitor and communicate university digital accessibility standards, requirements, and best practices to faculty and staff.
  • Provide guidance, training, and consultation on accessibility compliance and remediation strategies.
  • Lead accessibility-related planning efforts and ensure completion of required documentation and action plans.
  • Evaluate digital content and platforms for accessibility compliance and recommend remediation, design improvements, and coding enhancements.
  • Collaborate with university accessibility teams and attend Digital Accessibility Center (DAC) meetings, sharing important updates and recommendations with stakeholders.
  • Promote and support an inclusive digital environment that meets accessibility standards and improves user access.

Digital Strategy and Collaboration

  • Collaborate with communications and marketing colleagues to ensure consistent messaging and content alignment across OAA’s digital portfolio.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of digital strategies that support organizational priorities and communication goals.
  • Recommend innovative approaches, technologies, and digital solutions that enhance engagement, accessibility, and effectiveness.
  • Partner with academic and administrative units across the university to strengthen digital communications and share best practices.

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Science, Marketing and Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Drupal or similar CMS
  • Strong written communication skills

The target hiring range for this job profile is $ 47,700 - $65,000 The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
