About this role

About AllSpice

AllSpice is building the workflow infrastructure platform for hardware engineering teams.

Hardware teams are developing the next generation of autonomous vehicles, robots, rockets, medical devices, industrial systems, AI infrastructure, and advanced connected products. But the way they operate is still dominated by PDFs, shared drives, email threads, manual reviews, disconnected tools, and institutional knowledge trapped in individual engineers’ heads.

AllSpice helps electrical and hardware engineering teams collaborate on circuit designs, review changes, automate checks, manage design history, and build a reliable system of record for complex hardware development.

We’re at a critical inflection point with strong enterprise demand, a growing GTM engine, deep technical differentiation, and a product surface that spans collaboration, automation, AI, enterprise workflows, and hardware development infrastructure. We’re looking for a VP of Product to help turn that opportunity into a focused, category-defining product strategy.

About the role

As VP of Product, you will own AllSpice’s product strategy, roadmap, customer insights, product operating system, and product team.

You will serve as a key member of the leadership team and partner closely with the CEO, CTO, CRO, VP of Software, Sales, Customer Experience, Marketing, Design, and Engineering to define where the product is going, what customer and market opportunities we prioritize, and how product decisions help steer the business.

AllSpice is defining a new category for hardware engineering workflows, and the right leader will help decide what that category becomes.

You’ll inherit a product with strong technical foundations, passionate customers, a large roadmap surface, and clear enterprise pull. You’ll also help us sharpen product focus, improve roadmap prioritization, synthesize customer input, increase user adoption, build stronger product observability, and improve cross-functional decision-making.

You should be excited by highly technical products, specialized users, ambiguous markets, and the challenge of translating complex hardware development workflows into simple, durable, and valuable product experiences.

What you’ll do

Own product strategy and roadmap

  • Translate company goals, including revenue growth, customer expansion, product adoption, technical differentiation, and category leadership, into clear product priorities.

  • Build a roadmap that balances near-term customer needs, enterprise deal requirements, technical platform investments, and long-term category-defining bets.

  • Create a product planning cadence that gives Engineering clarity, gives GTM confidence, and gives leadership visibility into tradeoffs.

  • Help the company understand what we are building, why it matters, who it is for, and how it supports AllSpice’s business strategy.

Lead product discovery and customer insight

  • Build a rigorous customer discovery practice rooted in user research and mechanisms for turning customer feedback into product insights.

  • Spend meaningful time with hardware engineers, ECAD admins, engineering managers, executives, technical evaluators, buyers, and internal customer-facing teams.

  • Synthesize insights from customers, Sales, Customer Experience, Solutions, and Engineering, into clear product decisions.

  • Partner with GTM to clarify ICP, personas, positioning, launch narratives, and product adoption strategies.

Strengthen the product operating system

  • Improve how AllSpice moves from customer signal to product insight to initiative to epic to shipped product to adoption measurement.

  • Evolve product planning, prioritization, roadmap communication, launch, and feedback-loop processes so they scale with the company.

  • Create product metrics and dashboards that measure activation, adoption, engagement, retention, customer impact, and expansion signals.

  • Create clear frameworks for prioritizing customer requests, deal blockers, technical investments, usability improvements, and long-term strategic bets.

  • Ensure roadmap decisions are communicated clearly and consistently across the company.

Manage, mentor, and grow the product team

  • Lead, coach, and develop Product Managers and adjacent contributors, creating career development paths, feedback rhythms, and operating norms that help the team scale.

  • Help PMs improve at problem definition, stakeholder management, customer research, roadmap planning, product storytelling, and cross-functional leadership.

  • Hire and onboard future product leaders who raise the bar for customer empathy, technical fluency, strategic clarity, and execution.

  • Foster a product culture that is rigorous, collaborative, customer-obsessed, commercially aware, and comfortable operating in ambiguity.

Partner with leadership to steer the business

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the leadership team in setting company direction and making executive-level tradeoffs.

  • Bring product judgment into business decisions, including market focus, customer segmentation, expansion opportunities, and strategic bets.

  • Partner closely with the CTO and VP of Software to ensure product strategy, technical architecture, and software execution stay tightly aligned.

  • Represent the product perspective in executive planning, board conversations, GTM strategy, hiring plans, and company operating rhythms.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product management experience, including product leadership experience in a B2B software or hardware technology company.

  • Experience building products for hardware development, electrical engineering, ECAD, MCAD, PLM, PDM, manufacturing, supply chain, robotics, aerospace, automotive, medical devices, industrial systems, or similarly complex technical engineering workflows.

  • Experience managing, mentoring, and developing Product Managers.

  • Demonstrated ability to own product strategy and roadmap for a complex technical product.

  • Strong customer discovery skills, with experience working directly with highly technical users and enterprise buyers.

  • Excellent prioritization judgment across customer requests, revenue urgency, technical constraints, and long-term product strategy.

  • Experience building product operating systems, including planning cadences, roadmap frameworks, product metrics, launch processes, discovery practices, and feedback loops.

  • Ability to communicate clearly at multiple altitudes, including executive strategy, customer workflow details, and engineering tradeoffs.

  • Strong product taste and high standards for usability, quality, and customer impact in complex technical products.

  • Commercial judgment and experience working closely with Sales, Customer Success, or GTM teams to prioritize customer input and support business goals.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and creating structure without slowing the company down.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience building AI-assisted products where accuracy, trust, explainability, and workflow integration matter.

  • Experience with enterprise deployments, self-hosted products, SOC 2, SSO, security reviews, and complex technical evaluations.

  • Experience leading product through a platform evolution, major UX reboot, or migration from an inherited technical or product foundation.

  • Experience representing product strategy in board, investor, or executive planning conversations.

  • Familiarity with developer tools, collaboration platforms, version control, automation platforms, or CI/CD systems.

Why join now

AllSpice combines a large underserved market, urgent enterprise pain, strong technical differentiation, early customer validation, and a product vision that can reshape how hardware teams build.

For the next phase, we’re looking for someone who can build a focused, scalable product organization without losing the technical depth, customer empathy, and urgency that got us here.

This is a unique opportunity to define the product strategy, operating system, and product team for a company building a new category at the intersection of software, hardware, and AI.
