Job Description:

We are looking for a strategic and collaborative executive to lead the Risk Business Management and Governance function. As Vice President, Risk Business Management and Governance, you will integrate strategy and planning, financial management, business operations support and governance to strengthen execution, transparency and accountability across Risk Management.

 

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Risk Management Transformation and Enablement, you will partner with Risk leaders and enterprise teams to translate priorities into clear plans, provide timely business insights and establish disciplined management routines. This is an opportunity to influence at scale in a complex, regulated and multi-jurisdictional environment.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead Risk Management strategy and annual planning, translating enterprise and Risk priorities into clear objectives, plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Oversee transformation priorities and investments, supporting prioritization, sequencing, funding decisions and alignment across Risk.
  • Manage the Risk scorecard, consolidating performance measures, commitments, dependencies and outcomes for executive review.
  • Provide integrated business insights and recommendations to support strategic trade-offs, resource allocation and timely decision-making.
  • Lead performance reporting and workforce analytics, providing visibility into capacity, organizational trends and execution against priorities.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, expense management and financial performance, including variance analysis, cost transparency and investment governance.
  • Lead business operations and administrative services that enable efficient and consistent execution across the function.
  • Oversee communications, colleague engagement and workplace requirements in partnership with enterprise teams.
  • Establish policy frameworks and operating guidance that clarify requirements, ownership and expected practices.
  • Lead governance disciplines spanning monitoring and testing, issue management, change governance and regulatory programs.
  • Oversee Business Continuity Management and data governance, including policy and standards, stewardship and data quality.
  • Create an integrated view of strategy, financials, operations, governance and execution to strengthen organizational discipline and accountability.
  • Build effective partnerships across Risk and enterprise functions, influencing outcomes through shared accountabilities.
  • Develop an inclusive, high-performing environment where different perspectives are valued and colleagues are empowered to deliver.

  • Risk Management leaders and teams across all Risk pillars.
  • Risk Management Transformation and Enablement leadership.
  • Enterprise partners across Finance, Human Resources, Technology, Data, Legal, Compliance, Communications, Corporate Real Estate and shared services.
  • Senior executives, governance forums and program sponsors responsible for strategic prioritization and decision-making.

 

What You Bring

  • Significant progressive leadership experience in business management, strategy, finance, operations, governance, risk management or enterprise transformation.
  • Experience leading integrated business planning, executive reporting, scorecards and management routines in a large, complex organization.
  • Strong financial management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, expense oversight, investment governance and performance analysis.
  • Experience with workforce analytics, organizational planning, business operations, communications, colleague engagement and workplace coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of governance disciplines, including monitoring and testing, issue management, change governance, regulatory programs, business continuity, policy frameworks and data stewardship.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information, identify themes and trade-offs, and provide clear recommendations to senior executives.
  • Strong judgment and the ability to influence, constructively challenge and build alignment across a matrixed organization.
  • Strong executive communication, organizational awareness and the ability to operate effectively in a highly regulated environment.
  • Inclusive leadership skills and a commitment to creating an environment where people with different backgrounds and perspectives can contribute and succeed.
  • A post-secondary degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Advanced education or relevant professional credentials may be an asset but are not required.
