What Our Veterinary Receptionists Do

  • Greet clients and patients with warmth and professionalism
  • Provide exceptional customer service in person and over the phone
  • Manage multiple phone lines and respond to client questions efficiently
  • Schedule appointments and help maintain an organized daily workflow
  • Check patients in and out while ensuring accurate client and patient information
  • Manage lobby flow and help create a welcoming environment
  • Communicate calmly and compassionately with clients during stressful situations
  • Assist with medication pickups and client inquiries
  • Provide information about hospital services and products
  • Enter and maintain accurate information in the practice management system
  • Process invoices, collect payments, and perform cashier duties accurately
  • Assist with medical record requests, faxes, and other administrative responsibilities
  • Reconcile the cash drawer and complete end-of-day duties
  • Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and teammates to support exceptional patient and client care

What You’ll Bring

  • At least one year of veterinary medicine experience
  • Previous veterinary reception or client service experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional during stressful situations
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping skills
  • Ability to perform cashier and payment-processing duties accurately
  • Comfort working in a busy veterinary environment
  • Familiarity with veterinary terminology and common appointment types
  • Experience with veterinary practice management software
  • AVImark experience is a plus, but not required
  • Dependable, collaborative, team-first approach
