Love surgery, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to work with a team that genuinely enjoys coming to work?

Greencross Port Macquarie is looking for an experienced and confident Surgical Veterinary Nurse to join our exceptional team on a casual or part-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse who enjoys being hands-on in theatre, takes pride in high clinical standards, and wants to be part of a supportive hospital that sees a diverse and rewarding caseload.

Located in one of Australia's most desirable coastal towns, you'll enjoy working alongside a highly skilled team while having beaches, cafés, walking trails, and incredible outdoor adventures right on your doorstep.

What Makes Our Team Special

We're a busy, well-staffed hospital that sees the full spectrum of veterinary medicine. As part of the local after-hours syndicate, and with no emergency centre nearby, our team manages everything from routine procedures through to trauma cases, tick paralysis, wildlife, and medical emergencies.

Our veterinary team is highly experienced, collaborative, and passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.

You'll be working alongside:

  • Calli, our Regional Nurse of the Year, recognised for her outstanding nursing skills and patient care
  • Dr Sarah, who holds a Membership in Behaviour and has a strong interest in wildlife medicine
  • Practice Manager Sarah, who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes so the clinical team can focus on patient care

We also have access to local veterinary surgeons with surgical memberships, providing additional support and mentoring opportunities for advanced cases.

Our nursing team is highly utilised, trusted, and respected. Teamwork comes naturally, communication is excellent, and yes... the morning teas are legendary.
