Position Details

Role: Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant

Status: Full-Time

Salary: Competitive compensation based on experience

Schedule: Primarily day shift with alternating weekends. Typical shifts are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a weekend rotation that can be every other weekend.

Experience: Experience preferred; training available for the right person

Animal Emergency Clinic of the High Country is growing, and we’re looking to add a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to our ER family. Full-time and part-time positions are available, with a primarily daytime schedule that keeps your evenings free.

In emergency medicine, no two days are ever the same. Our team works side by side to provide exceptional emergency and critical care to pets when they need us most and to support their families through stressful moments. What You’ll Do

  • Assist doctors and veterinary technicians with patient care
  • Triage and admit emergency patients
  • Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and record vitals
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed
  • Take diagnostic radiographs
  • Enter charges and help keep patient flow moving
  • Communicate with compassion and clarity to clients during stressful situations

Responsibilities may vary based on hospital needs as well as your experience, training, certifications, credentials, and assigned responsibilities.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant preferred, ideally in emergency or small animal practice
  • Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and radiographs preferred
  • A strong work ethic, dependability, and a positive attitude
  • Compassion for pets and their families, especially in urgent situations
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in emergency medicine
  • Ability to stay calm, focused, and team-minded in a fast-paced setting
  • Availability for a weekend rotation, which can be every other weekend
  • Veterinary technician licensure is welcomed but not required
