The Role? 

To safely and efficiently perform valve inspection, servicing, repair, calibration, and testing activities in the workshop and at client sites, ensuring all assigned tasks are completed within the agreed timeframe and in accordance with applicable standards, approved procedures, and client requirements.

Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas

  • Inspect valves in their received condition, identify defects, assess component condition, take relevant measurements, and accurately document the findings.
  • Dismantle, clean, inspect, repair, recondition, reassemble, and test various valve types, including gate, globe, check, ball, butterfly, plug, and control valves.
  • Perform grinding, lapping, blue-contact checking, dimensional inspection, and replacement of damaged internal components and soft parts.
  • Inspect valves in their received condition, identify defects, assess component condition, take relevant measurements, and accurately document the findings.
  • Dismantle, clean, inspect, repair, recondition, reassemble, and test various valve types, including gate, globe, check, ball, butterfly, plug, and control valves.
  • Perform grinding, lapping, blue-contact checking, dimensional inspection, and replacement of damaged internal components and soft parts.
  • Carry out hydrostatic, pneumatic, seat leakage, functional, and operational testing in accordance with applicable standards, approved procedures, datasheets, and client requirements.
  • Repair, overhaul, calibrate, and test pressure safety valves in accordance with applicable API, ASME, OEM, and client requirements
  • Inspect, repair, assemble, and function-test manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric valve actuators and associated accessories.
  • Perform servicing, troubleshooting, testing, and installation support at client sites, shutdowns, and other operational locations as required.
  • Read and understand valve drawings, datasheets, test procedures, inspection requirements, and relevant technical documentation.
  • Complete inspection reports, repair records, test certificates, job cards, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate with client representatives and third-party inspectors during inspection, testing, and witnessing activities.
  • Maintain effective communication with the workshop supervisor, engineers, planning team, and other relevant personnel regarding job progress, technical issues, and material requirements.
  • Ensure the proper identification, handling, storage, preservation, and traceability of valves, components, tools, and client equipment.
  • Pack completed valves correctly using suitable preservatives, protective covers, and packaging materials to prevent damage or contamination during storage and transportation.
  • Operate company tools, test benches, lifting equipment, and other workshop machinery safely and only within the individual’s level of competence and authorization.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards within the workshop, test areas, storage locations, and surrounding work areas.
  • Comply with all HSE requirements, including permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, toolbox talks, PPE requirements, and site-specific safety procedures.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, technical concerns, quality issues, near misses, and improvement opportunities through the EnerMech EWOC and UOR reporting systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, productivity, and workshop efficiency.
  • Perform any other operational duties assigned by the Workshop Supervisor or management and improvement opportunities through the EnerMech EWOC and UOR reporting systems.

  • Secondary School Education

Preferred

  • ITI, Diploma, or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting, Machining, or a related discipline.

Essential

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in industrial valve servicing, preferably in the oil and gas, petrochemical, power, or process industries.
  • Sound knowledge of valve construction, operating principles, maintenance requirements, and applicable testing standards.
  • Flexible approach to workshop, site, shutdown, and shift-based assignments.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational procedures.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, power, or process industries.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately identify and report valve defects and complete service within the required timeframe.
  • Extensive experience in PSV repair, calibration, and testing.
  • Practical knowledge of repairing and testing pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric actuators.
  • Experience in valve automation, actuator installation, functional testing, and troubleshooting.
