The validations team is a central function within the company, as such you will work alongside the onboarding, account management and support teams. Under the direction of the Validations Team Lead, your job will be to analyze customer documentation accurately and timeously.

As a Validator you will be expected to accurately and timely complete and validate customer’s documentation that are submitted by various financial institutions. This includes following logical chronological steps, completing qualitative checks, capturing document information, and comparing the final set of information.


 

Essential Job Functions

  • Accurately review, capture, and validate customer documentation submitted by clients or third-party institutions.

  • Ensure all required information is correctly extracted and entered into relevant systems or databases.

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative checks to assess document authenticity, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Identify discrepancies, errors, or incomplete information and take appropriate corrective action, including escalation where necessary.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of document types, regulatory requirements, and validation processes.

  • Liaise with your team leads and internal teams to resolve documentation queries or discrepancies.

  • Provide timely and professional feedback to relevant parties to support process efficiency and customer satisfaction.

  • Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and ensure data security in handling sensitive customer information.

  • Consistently meet accuracy, quality, and turnaround time targets in line with operational service levels.

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies or risks within document validation processes.

  • Support team members by sharing knowledge, best practices, and providing assistance when required.

  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all validation activities for audit and compliance purposes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Educational Requirements:

    • Matric (Grade 12) and Tertiary Qualification (Bacherlors Degree or Advanced Diploma)

    • Post-matric qualification (advantageous, especially in Business, Administration, Compliance, or related fields)

    • 6 months - 2 years Data, Administrative, Finance, Compliance industry work experience or equivalent

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proven experience in document verification, validation, or data capturing

    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors, inconsistencies, and fraudulent documentation

    • Familiarity with various document types (IDs, proof of address, bank statements, payslips, etc.)

    • Basic understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements (FICA, AML, KYC, etc.)

    • Ability to work with document management systems, validation tools, dashboards and reporting systems

  • Behavioural and Soft Skills:

    • High level of accuracy and efficiency under pressure

    • Strong organizational and time management skills

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

    • Professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive customer information

    • Problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-driven mindset

    • Customer-focused with a commitment to providing exceptional service

  • Operational Requirements:

    • Ability to work full-time with regular, in-person attendance

    • Willingness to work irregular shifts, or overtime as operationally required

    • Capability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly processing targets and quality standards
