About this role
Utility Billing Accountant - Property Management
The Basics:
- Location: Position will be based in Richmond, VA
- Schedule: Monday – Friday
- Hybrid position – some remote work with 2 days in office per week
- Reports To: Utility Manager
Responsibilities:
- Calculating and processing resident water/sewer charges on a monthly basis
- Assists in identifying and resolving utility billing discrepancies
- Communicate with vendors and onsite property teams to resolve utility issues
- Enter utility (water/sewer, gas and electric) invoices into payable system
- Assist with monthly financial statement review including review of the general ledger and processing month end journal entries
- Special projects and other duties, as assigned by Utility Manager
Qualifications:
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft excel and using formulas
- Excellent communication and overall computer skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Accounting knowledge and experience is a plus
Pay: $53-58k depending on experience and accounting knowledge
