Reporting to the Superintendent - Processing, the Trainer - Processing is responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of processing plant personnel.

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and departmental leaders to identify training needs and develop comprehensive training programs for processing plant personnel.
  • Design and develop training materials, including presentations, manuals, simulations, and hands-on exercises, to effectively convey technical concepts and operational procedures.
  • Deliver training sessions and workshops on various topics, such as ore processing methods, equipment operation, process control systems, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and support to employees to reinforce learning and address individual training needs.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in mineral processing and incorporate them into training programs as appropriate.
  • Assist the operational readiness and support operations in Processing Plant commissioning.
  • Assist with plant auditing to comply with legislative requirements and ensure consistency in processes and standards, including maintenance of assessment and training records and licenses.
  • May be required to maintain a clean-shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in mineral processing, metallurgical engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in mineral processing operations, with hands-on experience in processing plant operations is required.
  • Previous experience in training and development, instructional design, or adult education is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of mineral processing principles, practices, and equipment.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
  • Proficiency in instructional design methodologies and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation.
  • Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift.
