About this role

Role Overview 

The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for managing the inventory, organization, issuance, and maintenance of tooling, consumables, and production support equipment used throughout the machine shop. This role is critical to ensuring machinists and manufacturing personnel have the tools and materials needed to support production schedules, quality requirements, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in a manufacturing or machining environment. 

 

What You’ll Do... 

  • Issue, receive, and track cutting tools, tool holders, gauges, measuring equipment, and shop consumables
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within inventory management systems and perform routine cycle counts
  • Monitor tooling usage and inventory levels to ensure adequate stock is available to support production demands
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Manufacturing teams to replenish tooling, supplies, and consumables
  • Inspect returned tools and equipment for damage, wear, or calibration requirements
  • Organize and maintain the tool crib to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
  • Support machinists and production personnel by locating and providing required tooling and equipment
  • Track tool life data and assist in identifying tooling improvements to optimize machining operations
  • Maintain records related to calibrated tools and inspection equipment
  • Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and inventory control processes

You have... 

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, machine shop, inventory control, warehouse, or tool crib environment
  • Working knowledge of machining tools, cutting tools, tool holders, measuring equipment, and shop consumables
  • Experience using inventory management systems, ERP systems, or computerized inventory tracking software
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issues security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance 

Nice to have... 

  • Familiarity with cutting tool vendors, tool presetting, and tool life management
  • Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing environments
