About this role

Perform thermal simulations to enable design of motors, inverters, and gearbox for high-speed machines in Garrett’s electric products. Analyse designs with CFD and FEA software, suggest changes to improve thermal management of the product with constraints on cost and manufacturability. Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to plan and provide effective simulation support. Contribute to simulation methodology development, validation, automation and AI transformation.  Develop predictive AI models and support agentic AI productivity drives. Calibrate simulation with test measurements.

Key Job Areas of Responsibilities

  1. Perform thermal simulation (FEA/Conjugate Heat Transfer) of electric products using ANSYS(CFX/Fluent/Mechanical), FloEFD or similar software.
  2. Optimize and improve thermal design of high speed electric machines for EV applications considering cost, manufacturing, and product constraints.
  3. Develop and validate simulation methodology for thermal management of motors and inverters.
  4. Automate FEA/CHT/CFD workflow process / creation of custom macros for quick design assessment (macros in ACT/APDL, scripting in Python or any other relevant language)
  5. Enable AI Transformation to accelerate prediction and automation for productivity
  6. Support electrical machine testing, cooling system measurements, and test correlation
  7. Work effectively in a multicultural team environment with engineers located in Garrett global sites and external ecosystem/Universities.
  8. Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to plan, troubleshoot issues and provide effective simulation support
