Your role and responsibilities
The Testing & Laboratory Specialist is responsible for executing tests in the R&D laboratory on power electronics devices and systems, with a focus on low-voltage (LV) 3-phase platforms compliant with IEC and UL standards. Reporting to the CoE Laboratory Manager, the specialist applies a thorough knowledge of testing methodologies, standard requirements, and measurement techniques to support product development, firmware validation, and certification activities. The role requires the ability to work independently, manage lab equipment and infrastructure, and deliver accurate technical documentation.

This role is contributing to the Electrification, Smart Power Division in Quartino, CH.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Plan, set up, and execute verification, validation, and compliance testing of low-voltage (LV) three-phase power electronics products, including UPS systems and power converters, in accordance with IEC and UL standards.
  • Perform functional testing and validation of hardware prototypes and embedded firmware, ensuring accurate and reliable test results throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Analyze test results, investigate failures, and provide structured technical feedback to support product improvement, certification activities, and problem-solving.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, test infrastructure, and documentation, while ensuring safe operations, calibration compliance, and high-quality testing standards.


Qualifications for the role

  • Degree or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrotechnics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in laboratory testing, validation, or verification of electrical or power electronics systems.
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, data acquisition systems, and other measurement tools.
  • Knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems, power converters, UPS technologies, or related applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and detail-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional and international teams.
  • Professional proficiency in Italian and good command of English; German is considered an advantage.
