Reporting to: Chief Medical Physicist & RSO
Basic Qualification: Bachelor Degree In Radiotherapy/ PG diploma in Radiotherapy
Min Years of Experience: Fresher – upto 8 yrs exp
Job Responsibilities:
Simulation
- Responsible to do the simulation procedure for all teletherapy and brachytherapy cases in the presence of the Radiation Oncologist and the Physicist.
- Responsible to mark the simulated area and check with Imaging.
- Responsible for preparing immobilization cast (aquaplast) for the patients who are need for the same.
- Responsible for labeling and storing the respective cast carefully till the treatment of the patient is completed.
- Responsible for taking the patient for CT – scan planning if required.
Treatment
- Responsible to receive the patient from the simulator room and once again check for the patient identification.
- Responsible for entering the patient name in the register and allotting a radiotherapy number for the patient.
- Responsible for explaining the treatment procedure and ensure that the consent is taken do the Time Out Procedure
- Responsible for setting up the system as per the planning details and performing the treatment, incase of brachytherapy, connect the patient to the brachytherapy unit and perform the treatment.
Equipment Maintenance
- Responsible for ensuring the working conditions of all machines/units in the department.
Quality Assurance
- Responsible for conducting quality assurance checks under the guidance of the Physicist as per the following schedule and document the same.
- Linear Accelerator – Daily and Monthly
- Brachytherapy – Bi -Annually
Records
- Responsible for maintaining of the following registers/records.
- New patient register
- Mould room registers
- Log books for all machines.
Any other jobs assigned by superior due to exigencies of work.
