Job Overview

Cybermedia Technologies (CTEC) is seeking an experienced Technical Writer/Business Administrator to provide overall leadership, management, and oversight for a federal government contract. 

Join a team supporting U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP’s) efforts to evaluate emerging technology to support mission needs. Cybermedia Technologies, LLC (CTEC) is recruiting professionals to support the CBP Innovation Team (INVNT). The program identifies, evaluates, adapts, demonstrates, deploys, and transitions innovative commercial and emerging technologies that strengthen homeland security operations and help front-line personnel work more safely and effectively. 

Team members will collaborate with government leadership, operational personnel, technical stakeholders, commercial technology providers, and Federal, State, and Local partners. Work may span field engagement; requirements and capability analysis; systems engineering and integration; technical and operational demonstrations; deployment and transition planning; operational assessments; analytics; training; life-cycle logistics; asset tracking; portfolio management; acquisition and privacy documentation; and executive-level reporting. 

This is a mission-focused, fast-paced environment requiring professionals who can translate operational needs into executable technology initiatives, work effectively across headquarters and field organizations, and produce clear, decision-ready analysis and documentation. Positions may require travel to support demonstrations, assessments, training, and field activities. Employment is contingent upon contract award, position availability, and satisfaction of applicable CBP background investigation and security requirements. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation, including:
    • Executive briefings and briefing materials
    • Strategic planning documents
    • Requirements documentation
    • Capability demonstration plans
    • Performance metrics and reports supporting commercial innovation technologies
  • Provide executive-level administrative support to leadership.
  • Coordinate leadership calendars, schedules, meetings, and Microsoft Teams activities.
  • Manage on-site and off-site meetings, industry days, special events, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Maintain Microsoft Teams channels, shared mailboxes, shared calendars, email distribution lists, phone trees, and external distribution lists.
  • Prepare, edit, format, proofread, and distribute professional correspondence, reports, presentations, and meeting materials.
  • Develop and maintain standardized documentation, internal business processes, portfolio trackers, dashboards, and organizational metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement efficient administrative workflows.
  • Maintain electronic files, records, and document repositories while ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
  • Coordinate business operations and administrative activities across multiple stakeholders.
  • Respond to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests by:
    • Managing incoming requests
    • Preparing responsive documentation
    • Editing and redacting documents
    • Coordinating leadership review and approvals
    • Processing and submitting finalized responses
  • Support leadership with reporting, status tracking, action item management, and other administrative initiatives.
  • Perform additional administrative and business support duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), one of its Component agencies, or an organization of similar size and complexity.
  • Experience providing executive-level administrative support to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Teams for collaboration, calendar management, meetings, and document sharing.
  • Experience coordinating executive calendars, schedules, meetings, travel, and special events.
  • Experience producing high-quality technical writing, executive briefings, reports, strategic planning documentation, and requirements documentation.
  • Experience developing organizational metrics, dashboards, trackers, standardized documentation, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience supporting FOIA requests, including document preparation, editing, redaction, review coordination, and submission.
  • Strong organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DHS Headquarters or DHS Component organizations.
  • Experience supporting innovation, acquisition, technology, or program management organizations.
  • Experience coordinating industry days, demonstrations, and executive events.
  • Experience developing business process documentation and performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of the Privacy Act and federal records management requirements.

Preferred Certifications

  • FOIA Certification.
  • Privacy Act Certification.

Security and Suitability: Contractor employees requiring access to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facilities, sensitive information, or information technology resources must have a favorably adjudicated Tier 4 (T4) or Tier 5 (T5) background investigation before commencing work on the contract.  

Salary Range: $95K/yr- $125K/yr+ Benefits( (Compensation and employment offer are negotiable and will be finalized based on the candidate's relevant experience and interview assessment.)
