Senior Technical Application Specialist (E)

About this opportunity…

Exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Application Specialist to join the Planning, Analytics, Management Reporting and Cost Management Lab in the Finance Platform. You’ll be an experienced Oracle EPM specialist capable of handling complex projects and mentoring junior team members.

What you’ll do…

• Lead complex technical projects / implementations within the specialist area
• Develop and implement best practices and standards on dimensional modelling, metadata management, application design standards and Oracle EPM solution governance
• Collaborate with other departments to align work with broader objectives
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and methodologies
• Conduct root cause analysis for critical issues
• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and pilot projects
• Represent the specialist team in inter-departmental meetings
• Contribute to the development of technical strategies
• Provide expert consultation on critical technical decisions
• Translate business requirements and financial processes into scalable Oracle EPM application designs, including dimensions, metadata structures, forms, dashboards and reporting artefacts
• Design and implement planning, forecasting, reporting and control processes using Oracle EPM forms, business rules and workflow capabilities
• Develop bespoke business approval, governance and control processes using Groovy to support business sign-offs, attestations and workflow requirements
• Design, develop and optimise calc scripts and business rules, adhering to Oracle EPM performance optimisation and block creation best practices
• Assess integration requirements and recommend EPM integration technologies and patterns, including Data Exchange, Data Integration, Data Maps, Smart Push, EPM Automate, OIC and other strategic integration approaches
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership during delivery

What you’ll need…

• Excellent understanding of EPM Cloud and its suite of apps including EPCM, Freeform, EPBCS, FCCS, Narrative Reporting and EDMCS, with deep expertise in dimensional modelling, calc design, reporting and integration patterns
• Extensive experience in configuring business solutions in EPBCS and Freeform
• Proven experience translating business requirements into intuitive planning forms, data collection templates, dashboards and planning solutions
• Extensive experience developing Groovy business rules, including workflow automation, custom approvals, business controls and process orchestration
• Advanced calculation script expertise, including performance optimisation, calculation sequencing, block creation strategies, sparse and dense dimension design considerations, and troubleshooting complex calculation issues
• Strong understanding of Oracle Essbase architecture and best practices for performance, scalability and maintainability
• Proven track record in optimisation of Oracle EPM applications
• Proven experience designing EPM reporting solutions incl. actionable management reporting, KPIs, dashboards, narratives and business insights
• Good integration knowledge across the EPM ecosystem, evaluating use cases and recommending the most suitable design patter / operational process.

It would be great if you also had…

• Understanding of OIC and enterprise application integrations
• Good working knowledge of Apache Groovy
• Experience working with Oracle FCCS, Task Manager and close process workflows
• Knowledge of EPM Data Exchange, Data Maps, Smart Push, EPM Automate
• Experience designing management reporting and planning solutions for large-scale finance organisations
• Familiarity with Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) and broader financial reporting and analytics ecosystems
