Job Summary
Application Maintenance & Development: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented COBOL code for batch processing and online transaction processing.
System Optimization: Analyze, debug, and tune existing production code and JCL (Job Control Language) structures to optimize runtimes and CPU utilization.
Database Management: Design, modify, and manage data access layers utilizing DB2, VSAM, or IMS DB.
Production Support: Participate in on-call rotations to troubleshoot, root-cause, and resolve production failures, job abends, and performance bottlenecks.
Modernization & Integration: Assist in bridging the gap between legacy systems and modern distributed/cloud environments through API integration and data streaming.
