Program Context
Staples operates a fragmented order-management landscape spanning eight legacy platforms (COMS, CFS, SOMS/Sterling, and several custom orchestration layers) across B2B, B2C, Services, and 3PL commerce. The OMX Transformation program consolidates these into a single, cloud-native, event-driven Order Management platform ("OMX") — built on Java/Spring Boot microservices on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), with Temporal workflow orchestration, a Drools or config-driven business-rules engine, Solace Pub/Sub event messaging, Azure API Management, and AlloyDB/Redis for transactional and caching data.
Milestone 1 scope is to design, build, test, and deploy product-only Furniture orders on OMX — approximately 25% of CFS volume — establishing a reusable architecture for future onboarding of B2B OMS, B2C OMS, 3PL, Projects, and beyond. The program targets a Q1 go-live, delivered through a squad-based Agile model with onsite/offshore delivery teams, governed by HCLTech's AIForce ALM DevSecOps framework and accelerated by GHCP/VibePath AI-assisted engineering.
The roles below reflect the Program/Strategy Team, the squad-based Delivery Team (Technical Architecture, Java/UI development, and DB Modeling), and the Quality Engineering track (test strategy, automation/SDET, and performance testing) required to deliver Milestone 1. Each job description lists mandatory core-technical skills, optional skills that are upgradeable from adjacent experience, and skills that can be enabled through SME-led or Day-0 training.
