SAP BW/4HANA & Datasphere Architect (Finance)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP BW/4HANA & Datasphere Architect (10-15+ years) with strong expertise in SAP Data & Analytics solutions and deep Finance domain knowledge. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining and driving the enterprise analytics architecture across SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, SAP S/4HANA Finance, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

The role requires a strategic mindset to design scalable, high-performance, and future-ready data platforms while collaborating closely with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, and technology teams to deliver Finance and Controlling analytics solutions

Key Responsibilities

• Define the overall SAP Analytics and Data Architecture roadmap encompassing SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, SAC, and S/4HANA.
• Architect enterprise-grade Finance reporting and analytics solutions aligned with business and IT strategy.
• Lead the design of data models, semantic layers, data products, and virtualized architectures in SAP Datasphere.
• Define data integration strategies using Replication Flows, Data Flows, Remote Tables, ODP extractors, CDS Views, APIs, and non-SAP integrations.
• Provide architectural guidance for BW/4HANA objects including ADSOs, Composite Providers, Open ODS Views, BW Queries, and data acquisition frameworks.
• Drive SAP BW modernization and migration initiatives, including transition strategies from BW to Datasphere.
• Establish data governance, security, authorization, data quality, and performance optimization standards.
• Collaborate with Finance business leaders to translate business requirements into scalable analytics solutions.
• Lead technical design reviews, architecture governance, and best-practice adoption across projects.
• Mentor development teams and provide thought leadership on SAP Data and Analytics innovations, AI-enabled analytics, and SAP Business Data Cloud capabilities.

Skill Requirements

SAP Data & Analytics Architecture

• Extensive experience in SAP BW/4HANA solution architecture and enterprise data warehousing.
• Strong expertise in SAP Datasphere architecture, modeling, integration, and data virtualization.
• Experience designing hybrid analytics architectures involving BW/4HANA, Datasphere, and SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics and CDS View architecture.
• Understanding of SAP Business Data Cloud and modern SAP data platform strategy.

Technical Expertise

• Advanced knowledge of SAP BW/4HANA modeling:
• ADSO
• CompositeProvider
• Open ODS View
• BW Queries
• ODP-based extraction
• Strong expertise in SQL, SQLScript, ABAP, CDS Views, and HANA-native modeling.
• Experience in performance tuning, data volume management, and security architecture.
• Knowledge of integration patterns involving SAP and non-SAP systems.
