We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Staff I with 2–3 years of experience in preparing individual income tax returns (Form 1040). The ideal candidate will bring expertise in SurePrep, GoSystem, or CCH, along with a working knowledge of multi-state returns, K-3 reporting, FinCEN Form 114 (FBAR) and Form 8938. This role offers opportunities for growth in various areas of tax compliance and provides cross-functional support during busy seasons.

How You’ll Contribute:

Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare form 1040 returns for domestic individual clients.
  • Handle multi-state tax filings and state-specific adjustments.
  • Accurately incorporate K-3 schedules and related international disclosures.
  • Report tax-exempt income in compliance with federal and state requirements.
  • Prepare FinCEN Form 114 (FBAR) and assist with other foreign information forms (e.g., Forms 8938 and 8865, etc.).
  • Use SurePrep, GoSystem  or CCH Axcess software to streamline tax return preparation, ensuring data accuracy, correct tax calculations, and adherence to filing deadlines.
  • Maintain organized and audit-ready documentation using Excel and firm templates.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations impacting individual and international compliance.
  • Work closely with team members to maintain smooth workflow, facilitate effective communication, and ensure the accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Support other teams during crunch time and assist with additional tax forms as needed (1120, 1065, 990, etc.).
  • Show initiative to learn new tax areas and grow professionally within the firm.

Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • 2–3 years of experience in individual tax preparation.
    • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas).
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
