The Talent Acquisition Partner will provide hands-on recruitment support across Animal Trust, helping to create an efficient, responsive and positive experience for candidates and hiring managers. 



Working closely with operational and clinical colleagues, they will support vacancies from headhunting, initial candidate screening through to interview, references and onboarding. They will review CVs, conduct telephone screening calls, coordinate interviews and maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process. 

A key part of the role will also be supporting the continued development of our
central locum bank, ensuring Animal Trust has access to a growing pool of appropriately vetted and compliant locum vets and veterinary nurses.



Key Responsibilities 



Talent Acquisition & Candidate Management 

  • Support recruitment activity for clinical and non-clinical vacancies across Animal Trust. 
  • Review applications and CVs against agreed role requirements and identify suitable candidates for progression. 
  • Manage and maintain the ATS.
  • Conduct structured telephone screening calls.
  • Provide hiring managers with clear and concise candidate information and recommendations. 
  • Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment journey and provide a professional and engaging candidate experience. 
  • Obtain and coordinate employment references and other required pre-employment information. 
  • Support successful candidates through the recruitment and onboarding process. 
  • Maintain accurate candidate and recruitment records and ensure recruitment activity is appropriately documented. 
  • Support recruitment campaigns and other talent acquisition initiatives as required. 
  • Work with the recruitment and retention lead to prioritise specific roles/ headhunting activities  

Central Locum Bank 

  • Support the growth and ongoing management of Animal Trust's central locum bank.
  • Proactively engage with prospective locums to increase the number of appropriately qualified and available professionals on the bank. 
  • Manage the onboarding process for new locums, ensuring required information and checks are completed before they undertake shifts. 
  • Maintain accurate records of locum availability, status and relevant compliance information. 
  • Work with operational teams to help connect available locums with requirements across the practice network. 
  • Ensure agreed shift rates and relevant terms are recorded and communicated accurately. 
  • Support regular reviews of the locum bank to ensure records remain current, accurate and compliant. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve the size, availability and effectiveness of the central locum resource. 

Key Competencies 

  • Previous experience within recruitment, talent acquisition, resourcing or a similar people-focused role essential  
  • Experience reviewing CVs/applications and conducting candidate screening calls. 
  • Strong telephone and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail. 
  • The ability to manage multiple candidates, vacancies and priorities simultaneously. 
  • Confidence working with hiring managers and stakeholders at different levels. 
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to follow up actions and keep processes moving. 
  • Good judgement and the confidence to handle sensitive or confidential information appropriately. 
  • Confidence using recruitment systems, Microsoft Office and other digital platforms. 
  • The ability to work effectively and independently when remote while remaining connected to the wider team. 
  • Alignment with Animal Trust's not-for-profit purpose and values. 
  • Registered Veterinary Nurse qualification would be advantageous but not essential

Job Details:
40hrs week

Monday - Friday: with some flexibility required to work outside these hours where necessary to meet the needs of the business and accommodate candidate availability.
Ability to work from our Warrington Hospital at times and travel as required to visit sites and attend events as required.
