Description

Markon is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Fort Meade customer by providing systems engineering support across the requirements, design, integration, testing, and implementation lifecycle. This role analyzes mission and user requirements, develops technical documentation, and supports the integration of hardware, software, and system components into secure operational environments. Working closely with Government stakeholders and multidisciplinary engineering teams, the Systems Engineer will help translate mission needs into executable technical requirements and support the delivery of reliable production systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze user requirements, Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements and specifications.
  • Develop and manage system and derived requirements to ensure compatibility with defined architectures, including Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environments.
  • Assist users and Government stakeholders in refining requirements, evaluating alternative technical approaches, and assessing solution feasibility.
  • Support system design and development activities across hardware, software, facilities, and personnel components.
  • Develop and maintain systems engineering documentation, including Systems Engineering Plans, requirements specifications, Initial Capabilities Documents, Interface Control Documents, architecture documentation, and system designs.
  • Support development of Systems Engineering Management Plans, system integration plans, and test plans.
  • Assist with requirements allocation, traceability, verification, and validation throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Incorporate new system designs, technologies, and capabilities into existing operational environments.
  • Support system integration, implementation planning, testing, and transition to production.
  • Coordinate technical activities and resolve action items resulting from Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews.
  • Identify technical issues, dependencies, and conflicts requiring coordination across engineering disciplines.
  • Collaborate with Government customers, program personnel, engineers, and technical stakeholders to resolve systems engineering issues.
  • Ensure engineering documentation and technical deliverables are accurate, complete, and aligned with customer requirements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Understanding of systems engineering principles, requirements development, system design, integration, and testing.
  • Ability to analyze user and mission requirements and translate them into technical and functional requirements.
  • Familiarity with system architecture concepts and frameworks such as DoDAF and SOA.
  • Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation, requirements specifications, interface documentation, and engineering artifacts.
  • Ability to collaborate with Government customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community or Department of Defense systems.
  • Familiarity with requirements management, configuration management, and requirements traceability processes.
  • Knowledge of system integration, verification, validation, and test methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Configuration Control Boards, engineering reviews, and technical baseline management.
  • Experience with systems engineering or requirements management tools such as Jira, Confluence, DOORS, Cameo, or similar platforms.

Salary Range

USD $80,000.00 - USD $90,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
