About this role

Systems and Storage Engineer

Denver Technology delivers IT and OT engineering, architecture and cyber security for resources, energy and marine operators across WA, NT and QLD.

We're looking for a Systems and Storage Engineer to join our IT/OT Engineering team, working on enterprise storage, server and infrastructure projects for clients running some of the toughest environments in the country.

About the role

You'll design, deploy, remediate and support enterprise storage, server and infrastructure solutions, with a strong focus on NetApp and Pure Storage platforms. Most of the work is project delivery and consulting: storage upgrades, migrations, remediation and architecture reviews, often for clients with segmented or converged IT/OT infrastructure in the mining and resources sector.

You'll run smaller projects on your own and work alongside senior engineers on larger programs. Some travel to site should be expected, and there's no on-call, though deployments occasionally run after hours.

What we offer

  • Competitive Salaries: Employees can expect competitive and benchmarked salaries, ensuring fair compensation for their skills and contributions.
  • Training and Certification Budgets: We invest in the professional growth of our people by allocating budgets for training and certification.
  • Employee Assistance Programme: An Employee Assistance Programme is in place to support the well-being and mental health of employees.
  • Active Social Club and Social Events: We foster a vibrant social culture with an active social club.
  • Regular Celebrations: We take pride in acknowledging and celebrating both our achievements and our people.

What you'll do

  • Configure, deploy, upgrade and test enterprise storage, server, cloud and infrastructure solutions.
  • Administer and support NetApp ONTAP (FAS and AFF) storage, including SnapMirrorSnapVault and CIFS/NFS provisioning.
  • Administer and support Pure Storage FlashArray and FlashBlade, including provisioning, replication and performance tuning.
  • Build and support Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
  • Deploy Azure IaaS and SaaS, Microsoft 365 and hybrid identity.
  • Administer VMware vSphere and Cisco UCS.
  • Support Commvault or Cohesity backup, disaster recovery, SolarWinds monitoring and patching.
  • Review existing storage and server architecture and recommend improvements, consolidation or remediation, including for segmented IT/OT environments.
  • Write high-level design, low-level design, implementation, test and handover documentation.
  • Attend client sites and workshops, including mining and resources sites, and explain technical risk and options clearly to technical and non-technical people.

What you'll bring

  • At least five years' experience as a Systems, Storage or Infrastructure Engineer.
  • Hands-on NetApp ONTAP administration experience (FAS and/or AFF).
  • Hands-on Pure Storage FlashArray or FlashBlade administration experience.
  • Strong Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure and Microsoft 365 experience.
  • VMware vSphere and Cisco UCS experience.
  • Experience working in or with IT/OT environments, ideally in mining, resources or another industrial sector.
  • An IT qualification or equivalent experience, and clear written communication skills.

Nice to have:

NetApp Certified (NCDA/NCSA) or Pure Storage certification, Microsoft certification, PowerShell scripting, and exposure to the Purdue model, ISA-95 or IEC 62443.
