Short Description
The trained technologist, under the direct supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse and/or physician, is assigned as an assistant to specific service areas in the Surgical Suite.Experience Required
- 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience preferred
Education Requirements
- Graduate of a nationally or regionally accredited educational program for Surgical Technologists
License/Certification Requirements
- American Heart Association BLS
- Certified Surgical Technologist Credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or its successor, or other nationally recognized credentialing organization (e.g. NCCT – National Center for Competency Testing, etc.).
Special Requirements
- Mon-Fri with on-call requirement for nights/weekends
- Must annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a Surgical Technologist in NJ
