Direct live broadcast delivery and help create high-quality, engaging racing and studio coverage for our Entain Channels.

Why This Matters

At Entain, you’ll join a global sports betting, gaming and entertainment business behind well-known brands such as Ladbrokes and neds in Australia, and Trackside, TAB, betcha, and Sport Nation in New Zealand. We’re an ambitious, customer-focused organisation who moves fast, thinks boldly and creates experiences that excite millions of customers.

Trackside is New Zealand’s premier racing broadcaster, delivering live coverage across multiple channels every day. As a Studio Director, you’ll sit at the centre of this operation, where live content, precision, timing, and teamwork come together.

You’ll direct engaging, consistent, and dynamic programming while making fast decisions in a live broadcast environment. Your work will help ensure our customers receive a high-quality viewing experience and that every race and programme is delivered accurately and professionally.

  • Coordination of presenters, graphic operators, production crew, outside broadcast teams, and external providers
  • Manage timing, presentation, sponsorship requirements, and verbal and visual content throughout each shift
  • Make fast, accurate decisions under pressure to maintain a seamless and engaging customer experience
  • Complete shift reports and support the training of new team members by sharing your broadcast knowledge and experience

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience directing live television, multi-camera studio production, or similar broadcast programming
  • A minimum of four years’ experience in a broadcasting environment or related field
  • Strong practical knowledge of television production, broadcast systems, and studio operations
  • Confidence making quick decisions and managing multiple priorities in a live, fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer literacy, attention to detail, and clear communication skills
  • Commitment to work across a 24/7 roster, including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays

Great to Have

These are a bonus, so if you don’t have them all, we’d still like to hear from you.

  • A degree, diploma, or other tertiary qualification in broadcasting, television production, or a related discipline
  • Experience in racing or sports broadcasting
  • Experience operating broadcast graphics and control room equipment

What You’ll Gain

You’ll join a connected, high-energy environment where sport, entertainment, collaboration, and momentum are part of the everyday.

  • Perks: Comprehensive wellbeing support, retailer discounts, and personal days off
  • Flexibility: Part-time hours of 48 per fortnight, with varied shifts across our 24/7 operation
  • Growth: Build your expertise in live directing, television production, broadcast operations, and real-time decision making
  • Exposure: Work with presenters, producers, graphic operators, control room crew, outside broadcast teams, and national media colleagues
  • People: Join a specialist broadcast team where collaboration, shared standards, and attention to detail drive performance
  • Your Space: Based in a dedicated broadcast hub, with access to the wider office and perks, including sports on TVs, a pool table, free breakfast, and snacks
