Job Description

Dewberry is seeking a Structural (Bridge) Program Manager to lead the delivery of transformative transportation infrastructure projects throughout Massachusetts and New England. This is a high-impact leadership role for a technically strong bridge professional who is passionate about developing people, driving project excellence, and building trusted client partnerships.

 

In this role, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for managing multidisciplinary project teams, overseeing project performance, mentoring engineering talent, and helping shape the future of Dewberry's transportation practice in the region. You will lead the design and delivery of critical infrastructure projects ranging from bridge replacements and rehabilitations to complex transportation structures that improve mobility, safety, and connectivity for the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, and delivery of bridge and transportation structure projects from concept through construction.
  • Serve as a technical and strategic leader for bridge projects including new structures, rehabilitations, widenings, and replacements.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, quality, and client expectations to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Build and strengthen the bridge practice by cultivating future project managers and technical leaders within the organization.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and client manager for public agencies and utility clients.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers and project staff.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams on client strategies, capture plans, proposals, and pursuit efforts.
  • Support business development initiatives, including proposal development, client relationship management, and strategic growth efforts.
  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing team in partnership with Operations and HR.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • Massachusetts Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience delivering bridge and transportation infrastructure projects, including significant project management responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success managing projects for MassDOT, MBTA, Massport, municipalities, or other public transportation agencies.
  • Extensive experience with bridge design, rehabilitation, replacement, and transportation-related structures.
  • Strong understanding of AASHTO, FHWA, MassDOT, MBTA, and applicable state and federal design standards.
  • Experience with design-build delivery and accelerated bridge construction techniques preferred.
  • Strong client management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build trusted advisor relationships.
  • Experience successfully managing project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Experience supporting business development, proposal preparation, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard bridge analysis and design software.
  • Ability to motivate teams, manage multiple priorities, and deliver exceptional client service.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $171,938 to $221,063 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for Boston, MA only.
