Key Clinical Responsibilities
Conduct and supervise comprehensive patient assessment, including vital signs, clinical symptoms, pain, nutrition, mobility, and risk assessment.
Ensure development, implementation, and regular evaluation of individualized nursing care plans.
Monitor patients for changes in clinical condition and ensure timely escalation to the treating physician and senior nursing team.
Supervise medication administration, including correct drug, dose, route, timing, documentation, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
Ensure safe management of IV therapy, blood transfusion, oxygen therapy, drains, catheters, feeding tubes, and other clinical interventions.
Provide and supervise pre-operative, post-operative, and procedural nursing care.
Assist clinicians during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Ensure appropriate management of emergency and deteriorating patients.
Participate in CPR/resuscitation and emergency response as required.
Monitor high-risk patients and ensure appropriate escalation and clinical intervention.
Ensure effective pain management and reassessment.
Monitor prevention and management of pressure injuries, falls, infection, malnutrition, and other patient-care risks.
Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control practices, including hand hygiene, PPE, isolation precautions, and aseptic techniques.
Monitor nursing documentation, clinical records, medication charts, observation charts, and care plans for completeness and accuracy.
Conduct clinical rounds and identify gaps in nursing care or patient safety.
Support implementation of evidence-based nursing practices and hospital clinical protocols.
Participate in clinical audits, nursing quality initiatives, incident reviews, and corrective/preventive actions.
Ensure proper clinical handover and continuity of care between shifts.
Educate patients and caregivers regarding medications, procedures, treatment plans, discharge care, and follow-up requirements.
Coordinate with doctors, nursing teams, allied health professionals, laboratory, pharmacy, ICU, OT, and other clinical departments to ensure continuity of patient care.
Identify clinical training needs and support competency development of nursing staff.
Ensure readiness and appropriate use of emergency equipment, medical devices, and clinical supplies.
Promote patient safety, clinical risk management, and adherence to hospital policies.

Qualifications & Experience
B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing / GNM.
Valid nursing council registration.
6–9 years of hospital clinical nursing experience.
Experience in a multispecialty, tertiary-care, ICU, OT, ward, or other relevant clinical setting preferred.
Previous experience supervising nursing staff is preferred.
