Job Description - Staff Mobile Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Staff Mobile Engineer to join our team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Flutter development and a solid background in iOS or Android native app development (preferably both). As a Staff Mobile Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and replatforming our mobile applications, ensuring stability, maintainability, and top-notch user experiences. Your focus will include driving efficiencies, improving processes, and mentoring team members to elevate our mobile engineering capabilities.

You Will:

  • Lead the development of our mobile applications using Flutter and Dart, integrating best practices for performance and maintainability.
  • Architect robust and maintainable solutions, incorporating platform-specific enhancements with Swift or Kotlin where necessary.
  • Store and console ownership: App Store Connect, Google Play, Firebase across all four markets — plus Apple certs/provisioning and the u-mobile-fastlane-match repo. This is a named POC responsibility, not a side task.
  • Crash/incident triage — Crashlytics thresholds, hotfix decisions, being the escalation point.
  • Drive the modernization of the mobile tech stack by leveraging Swift or Kotlin, or both, to ensure platform-specific enhancements where needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, architect, and implement scalable solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in the development process and implement solutions to enhance productivity.
  • Champion an improvement mindset by consistently evaluating and enhancing app performance, usability, and code quality.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level mobile engineers to foster growth and maintain high team standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in mobile development and advocate for incorporating relevant advancements into the tech stack.

You Are:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in mobile app development, with 3+ years of experience in Flutter and Dart.
  • Platform Expertise: Proficiency in either Swift or Kotlin (experience with both is strongly preferred).
  • Architectural Thinking: Demonstrated experience designing scalable and maintainable mobile application architectures.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a proven track record of resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Efficiency Mindset: Passion for driving efficiency and continuous improvement across the mobile engineering process.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Tools and Practices: Familiarity with state management solutions (e.g., Provider, Riverpod, Bloc), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
