As a Staff Auditor, you'll work alongside experienced professionals serving clients across a variety of industries, including Healthcare, Not-for-Profit, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Construction, Higher Education, and more. You'll gain hands-on experience, build meaningful client relationships, and develop the technical and professional skills needed for long-term success in audit and assurance.

Travel Expectations: This role requires minimal travel, less than 10% per year. Travel to client sites can range up to 50%.

You Will

  • Participate in audit, review, and compilation engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Develop an understanding of client operations, financial reporting processes, and industry-specific risks.
  • Assist in preparing workpapers, audit documentation, and financial statements.
  • Analyze financial information, identify inconsistencies, and ask thoughtful questions to deepen your understanding.
  • Collaborate with team members and clients to gather information and support engagement objectives.
  • Build strong communication skills through regular interactions with colleagues, managers, and clients.
  • Develop proficiency in accounting, audit, and technology tools used throughout the firm.
  • Apply feedback from supervisors and mentors to continuously improve your technical and professional skills.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Progress toward CPA certification and other professional development goals.

You Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or expected completion prior to start date. Master's degree is a plus but not required.
  • Internship, co-op, campus leadership, customer service, or other professional experience is helpful but not required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Curiosity and a desire to understand how businesses operate.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • A willingness to seek feedback, learn from others, and continuously improve.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Interest in pursuing CPA licensure.

Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $68,000 - $79,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
