Job Description
AZZ has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant at our Fort Worth Texas corporate office. Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, you’ll be responsible for performing day-to-day functions for the corporate accounting department. This position works closely with the corporate business units to ensure accounting issues are appropriately identified, analyzed, documented, and resolved.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists Accounting Department with month end closing of the general ledger, A/R, AP, & purchasing modules.
- Posts journal entries, preparation of various reconciliations including prepaids, insurance, and bank statement.
- Answers questions from business units and complete special assignments and projects as they arise.
- Supports general ledger function, A/R, A/P and payroll as needed.
- Ensures SOX compliance and SEC regulations where applicable.
Qualifications
- Fundamental accounting, internal controls, and SOX knowledge required.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel required.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
