Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$53.570 - $69.120 - $77.410

What You Will Do
Evaluates, plans, directs and facilitates Rehab educational programs. Participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department, and participates in CQI activities. applies clinical expertise in evidence-based practice within three spheres of influence; 1) patient/client, 2) clinical practice, and 3) organization/system in the following roles: clinical expert, educator, researcher, consultant and leader. The purpose is to improve clinical throughput and patient experience outcomes including responsibilities relating to collaboration with interdisciplinary teams in the utilization of Change Acceleration Process and PI tools. Provides information to rehab leadership in identifying real and potential quality, safety, experience issues through measurement and analysis along with concurrent and retrospective review of performance information.

Required Qualifications
  • 5 Years Previous experience in all aspects of rehab therapy
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
  • California Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) - CA Physical Therapy Board -REQUIRED
  • California Occupational Therapist license - CA Board of Occupational Therapy -REQUIRED
  • California Speech-Language Pathologist - CA Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology & Hearing Aid Dispensers Board -REQUIRED
  • California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -REQUIRED

Other Qualification Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved professional school of or graduate of accredited college or university with Rehab related major - Preferred

Essential Functions
  • Rehabilitation Practice
    Acts as a resource to staff to improve the quality of patient care.
    Promotes a model of clinical care that emphasizes professional role accountability, critical thinking, and collegiality with health care professionals.
    Provides input to the rehabilitation leadership regarding areas for improvement in clinical practice.
    Designs and/or supports evidence-based programs and/or processes that improve clinical practices
    Expands the practice of rehabilitation through ongoing generation and acquisition of evidence-based practice.
    Provides leadership as role model and/or consultant to develop/retain professional rehabilitation staff.
    Creates an environment that stimulates self-learning and reflective practice.
    Provides direction, oversight and collaboration with interdisciplinary colleagues in assessing the educational needs and designing educational programs that:
    Are based on evidence that improves clinical practice and outcomes
    Incorporate theoretical frameworks to advance clinical practice (novice to expert, reflective learning. Adult learning theory, etc.)
    Foster the integration of the rehabilitation professional role, advanced clinical decision making and acquisition of complex technical skills
    Develop competency-based orientation programs and ongoing clinical competency.
    Participates in approval of educational content (i.e., classes, e-learning modules, etc.), clinical practice (i.e., protocols, pathways, order sets, guidelines of care, etc.) and policy.
    Evaluates outcomes of staff education for effectiveness of knowledge transfer and cost-benefit.
    Organization/System Programs:
    Leads and/or facilitates effective and sustainable evidence-based change that achieves desired quality and fiscal outcomes.
    Critically evaluates rehabilitation and medical literature to update and implement best practice.
    Designs, implements, and evaluates programs and initiatives to achieve desired outcomes that are congruent with the organization’s strategic imperatives, mission, vision and values, regulatory requirements and standards.
    Assists with evaluation and implementation of products and patient care processes, within the specialty population that incorporates an evidence-based approach.
    Collaborates with clinical managers to assist with the analysis of major capital or non-capital purchase items related to the care of patients.
    Evaluates clinical data and identifies areas for improvement and works with interdisciplinary team to effect change.
    Participates in implementation of educational plan for system areas in the rehab.
    Assures quality, competence and compliance with internal standards and regulatory accrediting bodies.
  • Collaboration
    Communicates educational issues on a system-wide basis.
    Accepts changes and demonstrates flexibility when asked regarding work schedules and assignments.
    Participates in system activities, such as CQI, staff meetings, and chart review.
    Coaches others on effective use of change management tools to ensure success in PI projects.
    Completes additional assignments in a timely manner
    Participates in resolution of operational issues within system educational programming.
    Participates in committees and system wide activities.
  • Leadership/Member of a Profession
    Builds relationships and rounds consistently with management, clinical staff, and other healthcare team members to facilitate patient, clinical and organizational outcomes.
    Participates in professional organizations and partners with community organizations and schools.
    Enhances own professional growth through self-evaluation and setting and meeting own developmental goals.
    Advances clinical practice through participation in professional organizations, publications and presentations.
