Sr. Operations Research Analyst

Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking an Operations Research Analyst to provide support for the Technical Advisory and Assistance Services (TAAS) program at Peterson SFB.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Formulate mathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and their numerical parameters.
• Perform validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy and reformulate models as necessary.
• Collaborate with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify management objectives.
• Present the results of mathematical modeling and data analysis to management or other end users.
• Collaborate with others in the organization to ensure successful implementation of chosen problem solutions.
• Identify and track WS’s, including constituent systems, risks, issues, and opportunities.
• Implement Operations Research (OR) techniques for consistent, predictive analysis of data to identify WS risks, issues, and opportunities.
• Utilize and/or tailor identified risks for implementation into the WS Worthiness Assessment (WWA) process.
• Aggregate and document the results of RIO analysis for presentation to AFNWC/NC leadership for situational awareness and to support decision-making.
• Support WS lead Command, and program offices as directed.
• Lead a team of journeyman Operation Research Analysts.

Qualifications

15+ years experience in operations research, systems analysis, or management sciences.  Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Math, Science, Engineering, or a related field requiring significant mathematics and/or statistics.  Experience with analytical or scientific software such as IBM Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) Statistics, Minitab, SAS, The MathWorks MATLAB.  Knowledge of enterprise resource planning ERP software including NetSuite ERP, Oracle Hyperion, Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise One, Oracle PeopleSoft.  Experience with object or component-oriented development software including practical extraction and reporting language Perl, R, Scala, Swift.  Knowledge of operating system software such as Bash, Oracle Solaris, Shell script, UNIX Shell.  Knowledge of MS Office suite and Google Docs.  Must be detail oriented and have excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.  Must have strong communications skills and the ability to work professionally with all levels of an organization.  Must be a US citizen and hold an active Top Secret clearance. 

The projected compensation range for this position is $145,600-$165,400. There are multiple factors that can impact a final salary, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (if remote or different from the stated location for this position), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
