About this role

Job Description

Just imagine a global supplier ecosystem that keeps automation, robotics, and manufacturing operations ready to support growth for millions more children. Then make it real.

About the role

As our Sr. Category Manager, Automation & MRO, you'll lead the global category direction for operational technologies, with a focus on automation and robotics. You'll shape long-term sourcing strategies, guide supplier selection, and ensure commercial decisions support multi-year business objectives across the LEGO® Group. Working at the intersection of procurement, engineering, manufacturing, and supplier management, you'll help strengthen resilience, readiness, and value creation across a category that directly impacts production capacity and growth ambitions.

Required Qualifications

  • Led procurement, category management, project management, or engineering activities within an international company for 5+ years.
  • Managed spend portfolios of at least 100 mDKK.
  • Built and maintained relationships with strategic suppliers.
  • Directed stakeholder engagement at senior management levels, including L4-L5 stakeholders.
  • Negotiated commercial agreements and managed contract lifecycles for significant spend areas.
  • Partnered with engineering and planning functions and worked with automation and robotics suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Used SAP and Microsoft Office tools in a procurement or sourcing environment.
  • Applied sourcing platforms such as Coupa to procurement activities.
  • Conducted cost analysis to support sourcing and supplier decisions.
  • Worked with Industry 4.0 or Smart Factory initiatives.

What you'll build

  • Develop and implement the end-to-end global category plan for operational technologies, focused on automation and robotics.
  • Drive the global MRO community and strengthen governance, compliance, standardisation, and supplier consolidation across sites.
  • Increase commercial readiness across the supplier base while supporting technical and manufacturing maturity.
  • Create a scalable and competitive supplier ecosystem through strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and C-level engagement.
  • Establish supply chain resilience and business continuity plans for critical suppliers.
  • Act as the single procurement point of contact for contracts and commercial alignment with business stakeholders.
  • Connect emerging automation technologies with supplier capabilities to support future business needs.
If you've worked in a role where you managed complex supplier networks, negotiated strategic agreements, and influenced senior stakeholders, you'll feel at home here. What matters most is your ability to create long-term value while balancing resilience, flexibility, and commercial performance.

Life on the team

You'll join the CAPEX & MRO Procurement team, which is responsible for global sourcing, category direction, market intelligence, vendor selection, and contracting across several manufacturing-related categories. We work closely across sites and functions to support sustainable growth and optimise total cost of ownership. Collaboration is central to how we work, and you'll be part of a team that values partnership, alignment, and shared success.

What success looks like

Success means building a supplier base that can support evolving automation and robotics ambitions while maintaining flexibility, resilience, sustainability, compliance, and lead-time performance. Over the next 12 to 18 months, you'll help strengthen category maturity and support growth plans through strong partnerships with technical leaders, procurement colleagues, and strategic suppliers. Your work will help ensure the right capabilities are in place at the right time to support the future of LEGO manufacturing.
The position is based in Billund, DK and relocation support is not offered for this role.
