What you will do
The Senior Category buyer is responsible for project spend for APAC region. Responsibilities include supplier scouting, selection, supplier management, price & contract negotiations, drive product optimization and working capital management. The buyer will develop and execute a category strategy that supports the company’s profitable growth plans. They will be the primary owner of cost savings and working capital improvements.
How you will do it
- Drive year-over-year improvement in field material spend through supplier negotiation.
- Drive year-over-year improvement in working capital through supplier payment term management.
- Develop field material category strategy by category cluster, implement category strategy in sourcing decision of field projects.
- APAC Field material business partner to for APAC multi-countries, connect APAC Field material category team with Country daily sourcing activities.
- Supplier account management for selection of suppliers. Develop strategies to effectively manage and optimize the supply base.
- Manage supplier performance and organize regular business reviews with suppliers of responsibility.
- Negotiation and maintenance of contracts and supply conditions.
- Insights to supply base market intelligence & dynamics, scouting new suppliers to support the business growth.
- Deploy a global preferred supplier strategy to improve supplier quality, delivery and cost.
What we look for
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, International Trading or related Business Degree. Master degree is a plus.
- Experience in sourcing/procurement：5 years+. Experience in HVAC industry or project purchasing is a plus.
- Language: Fluent English is must.
Knowledge of electrical and electronic categories (e.g., motors, VSDs, control panels) is preferred.
- Ability to handle APAC region will be added advantage.
- Excellent negotiation skills, being able to build a compelling case and convince others; familiar with contracting
- Good interpersonal skills to enable and manage strategic relationships
- Adaptable towards a rapidly changing environment
- Experience in working in multi-cultural teams
- Experience in international trade
- Advance in MS Excel especially well-verse in generating Pivot Table and VLOOKUP is a must
- Experience in analyzing data and sensitive with data
